Search by photo: shoppers snap the package and find the product

A camera button in the search bar: AI reads brand, name, size and barcode and finds the same product in your catalogue. Pro and Enterprise.

The shopper is holding the bottle that just ran out, but can't remember exactly what it's called: the range, the size, "the one with the green cap". With search by photo they don't need to type it.

Search by photo Photo of the package → the same product first, and similar ones below.

How it works

  1. A camera button appears in the search field. On a phone the shopper takes a photo or picks one from the gallery; on a computer they upload a file.
  2. AI reads the package: brand, name, size, and the barcode if it is fully readable.
  3. Findora searches your catalogue: first the same product (by barcode, if there is one), then, under "Similar products", similar items of the same type from other brands (one variant per product), so the shopper has a choice without a page full of unrelated items.
  4. The results show "From your photo: …", so the shopper knows what was recognised.

If no product is recognised, the shopper sees a message to try again closer, with the label visible.

Privacy

  • The photo is resized on the shopper's device before it is sent.
  • It is not stored anywhere: it is used only for recognition and then discarded.
  • Recognition is done by Anthropic (Claude), listed in the privacy policy.

Cost

  • Available in the Pro and Enterprise plans.
  • Each photo search is charged to the store's AI credits. There is a usage limit per visitor, so nobody can drain your credits.
  • Turn it on in the portal: Settings → Features. If AI credits run out, the button is hidden.
