Voice search: “αντηλιακό για παιδιά” (sunscreen for kids), no keyboard needed
On a phone, you speak faster than you type. With one tap on the microphone, customers say what they’re looking for and see results.
On mobile, many customers prefer to speak: it’s faster, it doesn’t require correct spelling and it works even when they’re holding something in their other hand.
The customer says “αντηλιακό για παιδιά” (sunscreen for kids) and instantly sees results.
How it works
A microphone appears next to the search box. The customer taps it, says what they want, and the text goes through all of Findora’s Greek-language processing: categories, prices, needs, brands. “Αντηλιακό για παιδιά κάτω από 15 ευρώ” (sunscreen for kids under 15 euros) works just as if they had typed it.
- In most browsers (Chrome, Edge, Android) the browser’s built-in speech recognition is used.
- On iPhone voice search is coming soon. Until then the button isn’t shown, and customers can use the microphone on their keyboard.
- Privacy: the voice is used only for conversion to text and is not stored.
Together with barcode scanning
The barcode button sits in the same place: see the article on barcodes, EAN and product codes.
Voice search and barcode scanning are included in the Pro and Enterprise plans.
