Site search for book & toy e-shops
Shoppers search titles with typos, authors as they remember them and “a gift for a 5-year-old boy”. Findora leads them to the right product.
«παραμύθια» · «δώρο για αγόρι 5 χρονών» · «lego» · «βιβλία για το σχολείο»
The challenge
Why books & toys search needs more
In books and toys, shoppers search with author names and titles written many ways: Greek, Latin letters, typos, without articles. They also search by genre (“crime”, “novel”, “fairy tales”) and very often by purpose: “gift for a child”, “for school”, “crafts”.
Parents and gift buyers usually don’t know a specific title. Search that requires an exact name leaves them with nothing, and the sale goes elsewhere.
Findora joins Greek and English genres (novel, crime/thriller, fairy tales, cookbooks) and recognises purposes: gifts for kids, back to school, baby and toddler, crafts, summer. An ISBN-13 is an EAN barcode, so a book is found instantly by its ISBN or by scanning it with a phone.
