Site search for electronics e-shops

Model codes, Greek and English terms, technical specs: search in electronics needs precision.

«φορτιστής type c» · «ακουστικά για τηλεργασία» · «akoustika bluetooth» · «ποντίκι κάτω από 30€»

The challenge

Why electronics search needs more

In electronics, shoppers search in three very different ways: by model code or barcode when they know exactly what they want, by a general word plus price (“laptop under €800”), or by use (“headphones for running”, “something for working from home”). Search that handles only one of these loses sales on the other two.

The language is mixed. The same shopper types “κινητό” or “smartphone”, “φορτιστής” or “charger”, often in Greeklish. If search doesn’t know these mean the same thing, the store looks as if it doesn’t carry the product.

Findora joins Greek and English through an electronics synonym dictionary, finds products by barcode (EAN) and code (SKU), understands price inside the query and uses such as working from home, gaming, travel, smart home or students. When something is out of stock, it suggests an available alternative so the shopper doesn’t leave.
